MP Shobha draws flak for remarks against churches regarding vaccination

Mangaluru, May 20, 2021:     The Mangaluru Diocese as well as the  Udupi Pradesh Catholic Sabha have  strongly condemned the statement of MP Shobha Karandlaje  accusing churches of misguiding people on Covid vaccination.

 

In a press communique, Roy Castelino, PRO of Mangaluru Diocese has said that it was painful to hear a false statement from the Udupi MP  that churches were discouraging  people of the   community  from taking Covid vaccine.

He pointed out how the  churches have been enlightening people on the vaccination programme and had even initially organised vaccination camps in church premises.

Meanwhile, Udupi Pradesh Catholic Sabha President Mary D’Souza too condemned the statement of the MP and described it as "childish."
