MRPL flags off its first Toluene parcel

Mangaluru, January 21, 2025: The inaugural truck parcel of Toluene from Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) was ceremonially flagged off by Shri Mundkur Shyamprasad Kamath, Managing Director of MRPL, at the Aromatic Complex within the Mangalore Special Economic Zone Limited (MSEZL).

The event was attended by Nandakumar Velayudhan Pillai, Director (Refinery), BHV Prasad, Executive Director (Projects), B. Sudarshan, Executive Director (Refinery), Yogish Nayak S., Chief Financial Officer, and other senior officers of MRPL, marking a significant milestone in the company’s efforts toward self-reliance in chemical production.

The launch of MRPL’s Toluene product was recently inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, during his visit to the refinery. This development represents a pivotal step in reducing India’s dependency on imports and bolstering the nation’s industrial and economic growth. It aligns closely with the Government of India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).
