Major drugs haul in Mangalore ; 34 kg ganja seized from trio

Mangalore, March 12, 2013 : Thirty four kg of ganja worth nearly Rs 8.65 lakh was seized and three persons arrested in a major drugs haul in Mangalore  on the night of March 11, Monday in a joint operation by  Coastal Security Police and the NDC CID Cell  at the salt dock at Attavar.

The arrested are Sayyed Anees Ahmed (53), Mansoor Ahmed (28) and Ansar Pasha (45) of Chikmagalur.

The raid followd a tip off that  some drug peddlers from Mysore would be supplying ganja to some persons in the city. The police found three traveler bags with the accused and interrogations revealed  that they had secured the same from one Inayat of Mysore and intended to take it to Udupi.

Apart from the ganja, police have also seized three mobile phones from  the accused.
