Malpe: 3 students attempt suicide at Thottam Beach; 2 die

Udupi, Feb 3, 2013:  Two out of the three  students  who had attempted suicide at Thottam beach on February 3, Sunday morning, have  died, while another, a girl, is battling for life at the hospital. They had reportedly consumed biriyani laced with poison to end their lives.

All the three, students of Ramanagar PU College, were reported missing from Ramnagar since five days.  If one of them Madhu (17) had died at the beach itself, another boy named Hemanth (18) breathed his last at the Udupi District Government Hospital.

 

 

Meanwhile, another student, Sowmya (17) who was with the boys, is undergoing treatment  at the hospital and is still not fully conscious. The cause of their extreme step is not known. Malpe police have registered a case.
