Man attempts to end life with 2 yr kid on Gurupur bridge

Mangaluru, November 11, 2024: Anxious moments prevailed near the Gurupur bridge on Sunday when a man holding his two year old child, had climbed on the protective wall of the bridge in an apparent bid to jump into the river and end his life.

Though locals rushed to the spot and dissuaded him from jumping, he was unrelenting. In the chaos that prevailed, the man fell down and he was caught hold of and thrashed by locals and then sent home.

Bajpe police rushed to the spot. Though the man said he had climbed on to the wall to show the river view to the child, it has been learnt that following a domestic dispute he had planned to end his life.
