Man from Koila found dead in Hassan; family suspects foul play

Bantwal, November 23, 2024: A man from Koila in Bantwal taluk who worked as a manager in a factory near Kushalnagar was found dead in Konanur of Hassan district. His family has lodged a police complaint suspecting foulplay.

The deceased is Dattaraj Shettigar (54). He was residing in Kushalnagar and worked in a cement product factory in Chikkahosur near Kushalnagar as a manager since many years. He was missing since Wednesday morning. He had switched off his mobile phone with a status “My dear customers, my salutations to the contractors for co-operating by not paying for the products purchased from us.” His family members had lodged a complaint at Bantwal Rural Police Station and later at Bailakoppa station in Kushalnagar as per the advice of the local police.

The body was found on Thursday. The deceased is survived by his wife and daughter. He was the President of Sangabettu Veerabhadra Temple Brahmakalashotsav Samithi and sports convener of District Padmashali Samaja Seva Sangha.
