Man posing as officer in PMO avails special darshan at Udupi Krishna Mutt; cheating complaint lodged

Udupi, October 11, 2024: A complaint has been lodged at the Udupi town police station against a person for cheating after falsely claiming himself to be the Parliamentary Chief Secretary in the PMO and then availing special darshan at the Sri Krishna Mutt.

On October 7, a person who introduced himself as Uday called Nagaraj Achary̧a, the Diwan of Paryaya Puttige Mutt and said he was the Parliamentary Chief Secretary of the PMO and was visiting Udupi Mutt along with his family and asked to make suitable arrangements.

The person arrived on October 9 in an Innova car with the Government of India name plate. He and his family were provided suitable arrangements and were offered special darshan on October 10. However there arose some suspicion and when the mutt authorities enquired further, they failed to give a suitable reply and left the place.

The Mutt authorities later checked the PMO website where there was no information of any officer by the name Uday. Following this, the Mutt Manager Nandan has lodged a complaint at the local police station.
