Mangalore: Carstreet bathes in colours as Okuli is celebrated with joy

Mangalore, Feb 18, 2013 :  Temple Square at Carsteet in Mangalore turned colourful on February 18, Monday when Okuli’ the festival of colors is being celebrated to mark the end of the  six day festivities as part of Kodial Theru or Car Festival.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Young men and women danced on the streets and sprayed colored water on each other. Hundreds have  converged at Temple Square to be part of the festivities.. The day is also known as Avabhrathotsava.

Members of the GSB community both young and old with colours smeared on their faces, were seen beating drums, singing and dancing as Lord Venkatramana and Goddess Padmavathi are on the first journey of their wedded life.
