Mangalore: Dec 3, 2012: N Prakash, the former Director of KSRTC (Personnel and Environment), Bangalore, has taken charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district on December 3, Monday. He is the 123rd DC of the district.
Outgoing Deputy Commissioner Dr N.S.Channappa Gowda handed over charge to the new incumbent in the presence of Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr K N Vijayaprakash, Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner Harish Kumar, Assistant DC Dayanand and other officials.
Soon after taking charge, the new DC said he would continue the good works done by his predecessor and added the plastic ban project initiated by the erstwhile DC would be continued. Prakash also exuded confidence that the plastic ban would be total very soon.
Stating that he would give top most priority to the effective implementation of various government programmes, he also warned of action against those who violated norms.
N Prakash who hails from Nanjangud in Mysore district, has been in government service since 1978. This is the first time that he has been posted as DC.
Outgoing Deputy Commissioner Dr. NS Channappa Gowda will assume office as the Director (Personnel and Environment), KSRTC, Bangalore. He has the credit of successfully organizing the National Youth Festival for the very first time in Mangalore.
