Mangalore: Protestant community celebrates Harvest Festival

Mangalore, Oct 6, 2013: The protestant  community of the region celebrated Harvest  Festival with religious fervour on October 6, Sunday.

 

 

 

New harvests were brought to churches and given as offerings to the churches. Churches of CSI Diocese thus received  newly harvested paddy, tender coconut, sugar cane etc.

In the Balmatta Church of the CSI Diocese, Dr JS Sadananda, Bishop of CSI Diocese  delivered the homily. Members of the Protestant community also enjoyed the Harvest Festival Feast. A variety of cultural programmes were also organised at various venues as part of the celebrations.
