Mangaluru: 40 prisoners of District Jail test positive for narcotic drugs consumption

Mangaluru, August 1, 2024: As many as 40 under trial prisoners at the District Prison in Mangaluru have tested positive for narcotic drugs consumption. The tests were done after a recent raid on the prison led to the police seizing several packets of ganja apart from mobile phones.

Later, a narcotic drug test was undertaken on 110 prisoners out of the 389 under trials at the District Prison. Of them 40 have tested positive, informed City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal.

There is information that the authorities would conduct the drug test on the remaining prisoners in the District Jail.
