Mangaluru: 65-yr-old woman dies after falling from bus near Jokatte

Mangaluru, Jan 15, 2024: On Monday morning, a tragic incident unfolded at Jokatte Cross on the outskirts of Mangaluru, claiming the life of a 65-year-old woman named Eramma. Eramma, who was traveling with her daughter to Surathkal in a private bus, met with a fatal accident.

 

According to Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal, at around 10:10 am, when the bus reached the service station near Jokatte Cross, driver Anil John Lobo abruptly and recklessly applied the brakes. This sudden maneuver caused Eramma, who was seated on the front next to the driver, to fall out of the bus. Tragically, the rear left wheel of the bus ran over her, resulting in a severe head injury that proved fatal on the spot.

In response to this tragic incident, a case has been registered at the Traffic North Police Station under IPC Section 304(A) and 279.
