Mangaluru: Bakrid celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety

Mangaluru, June 17, 2024: Bakrid, which is also known as Eid-ul-Adha is being celebrated by Muslim brethren across the city on June 17, Monday with great religious fervour. The day is marked by special prayers, greetings and gifts.

Bakrid is also known as the festival of sacrifice for the Islam faithful. Special prayers were offered in various Idgahs and mosques across the city to mark the day.

The prayers will be followed by feasts with family members, friends and relatives. The festival is being celebrated to commemorate the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim.

Muslim brethren exchanged ‘Eid Mubarak’ wishes and returned home to celebrate the holy festival.
