Mangaluru, June 13, 2024: In response to the ministry of road transport and highways issuing directions to use mobile speed radar guns, Mangaluru City police held a meeting on Thursday, June 13, 2024.
The road safety meeting was chaired by city police commissioner Anupam Agrawal. The discussion focused on the introduction of mobile speed radar guns to monitor rash and negligent driving on national and state highways, and other roads within the city police commissionerate limits.
Action will be taken against motorists for overspeeding. Moving forward, measures will be enforced against those who violate speed limits. Additionally, boards displaying the speed limit will be put up on all roads. This initiative aims to reduce the accident rates in the city.
DCP (crime and traffic) BP Dinesh Kumar, NHAI project director Abdulla Javed Azmi, PIU Anirudh Kamath, PWD JE Loyd D’Silva, Mangaluru Smart City AEE Manjukeerthi S, and officers from MCC, including Jnanesh, MN Shivalingappa and Mithun were present.
