Mangaluru: Derlakatte medical shop owner attacked by gang

Mangaluru, October 20, 2024: A medical shop owner at Derlakatte was attacked by a group of men over a WhatsApp message by the former relating to the recent suicide of a youth. The incident took place on Sunday.

 

The injured person is Abdul Jaleel. Recently, a youth from Konaje had ended his life at Bunder in Mangaluru. Regarding this Jaleel had posted a personal message on WhatsApp which reportedly irked the family members of the deceased.

Reports say the family members had questioned Jaleel over phone and he had also tendered apology. Still on Sunday morning as many as 11 persons who arrived in three cars took Jaleel along and then assaulted him and also reportedly robbed him of a cash of Rs 23,800.

A complaint has been lodged at Konaje police station.
