Mangaluru: FIR filed for derogatory posts on Hindu Gods

Mangaluru, Sept 11, 2024: The Urwa Police have registered an FIR against the Facebook page ’Fact Vid’ for posting derogatory images of Hindu gods.

Advocate Theerthesh P. from Urwa lodged the complaint, stating that AI-generated images of deities like Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, Lord Rama, and Lord Ganesha were depicted in inappropriate poses, hurting religious sentiments.

The complaint also accused the page of inciting communal unrest by ridiculing Hindu deities and posting obscene content. The police have charged the page under Sections 299, 192, 353, and Section 67 of the IT Act.
