Mangaluru: Fisherman dies as boat hits rock

Mangaluru, Jan 13, 2024: A fisherman lost his life after the boat in which he had ventured into fishing  hit a rock mid sea, soon after the  boat’s ropes got snapped. The mishap occurred off Mogaveerapatna shores.

 

The deceased is Michael (60), a resident  of Kerala who resided at Mogaveerapatna. He along with two others had ventured into fishing in the boat owned by Mohammad Kalandar Shah. They had cast the net to catch fish near a rock mid sea. Strong winds resulted in the rope getting snapped and the boat hitting the rock. Michael who was running the engine of the boat suffered serious injuries and died after his head hit a wooden log in the boat.

Ullal Police have registered a case.
