Mangaluru : Forest staff bust red sanders smuggling racket ; arrest 7 persons

Mangaluru, June 03, 2022: The Forest Department personnel have busted a red sanders smuggling racket with the arrest of seven persons at Kenchana Kere in Kilpady village of the taluk on June 1 evening.  As many as 315 red sanders logs worth Rs 4.15 crore  were seized from the arrested.

 

Those arresed have been identified as Anil Kumar, Shameer S, Kunhi Mohammad, Dinesh Kumar, Pal Raj,  Rajesh Reddy. Another accused is said to be absconding.

A truck in which the red sanders were being smuggled and a Mahendra Marazzo vehicle which was escorting the truck, have been seized by the police.
