Mangaluru Habba’s Talent Parbha Showcases Local Talent and Culture

Mangaluru, November 11, 2024: Women of Mangalore organisation, in association with City Centre Mall and Mohtisham Complexes Pvt. Ltd., hosted the vibrant Talent Parbha contest over the weekend, drawing participants from Mangalore and nearby regions. Held on November 9 and 10 at City Centre, the event welcomed solo and group performers across diverse categories, drawing an enthusiastic audience and applause for each participant.

Conceived by Sabrina Britto and Divya D’Souza, with coordination by Dr. Malini Hebbar, the contest aimed to spotlight Mangalore’s unique cultural potential and talents. "This event is about putting Namma Kudla on the map and showcasing the brilliance of its people," said Dr. Hebbar.

Actor Siddharth Shetty, known for his role in the Tulu movie Thudar, was the guest of honor and distributed cash prizes totaling Rs.55,000. Additionally appreciation prizes worth Rs.25,000 were presented to all participants. Event sponsorship came from Sabrina Britto Hougaard, Joe Albuquerque, Cecilia Shreshtha, Yenepoya Deemed to be University, Village Restaurant and the Inner Wheel Club of Mangalore North and the core committee members.

Judges Savithri Rao, Mohanraj, Gauri Suhas Rao, Raveena, and Shane Pereira evaluated the contestants’ performances. Core committee members, including Nayana Fernandes, Obeida, Dr. Kalpana Ashfaque, Vidya Shenoy, Veena, and Primrose D’Souza, were pivotal in organizing the event.  Kavitha Palke and Sasha D’souza helped in the smooth conduct of the contest.

The event also marked the presence of eminent people such as Dr Akhter Hussain, former Dean, Yenepoya Dental College; Mr Amith Prabhu, a pioneering Public Relations and Reputation Management Professional; Savitha Shetty, President, Inner Wheel Club of Mangalore North; Jayashri Basri, PP, IWC Mangalore North; Uma Rao, PP, IWC Mangalore North; Savitha Salian, District Director, Toastmasters District 121, Dr Sophia Zacharias, Managing Partner, St George’s Homeopathic Clinic & Pharmacy and Pooja Jalan, Proprietor, Employme and Mployd.
