Mangaluru: Labourer dies as mud caves in during drainage work

Mangaluru, January 7, 2025: A labourer died after mud caved in during drainage related works at Hoigebail on Monday evening.

The deceased is Kamal Hussain (20) from West Bengal. Three labourers were at work inside a trench which was nearly eight feet deep when mud suddenly caved in.

Locals immediately swung into action and managed to rescue two labourers while Kamal died while being rushed to hospital.

A case has been registered in Urwa police station.
