Mangaluru: Lady cop turns Good Samaritan to accident victim

Mangaluru, OCtober 24, 2024: A lady police constable attached to the Kadri Police Station has won commendation for her humanitarian act of saving a person injured in an accident by shifting him to the hospital in her two-wheeler during the wee hours of Wednesday.

Murshida Banu was on way to the police station when at around 4 am when she noticed a  pick-up vehicle laden with poultry ramming into a stationed truck near KPT.

The truck driver and cleaner were injured in the mishap. Though the driver had sustained minor injuries he was not in a position to help the cleaner who was severely injured and screamed for help. Murshida Banu immediately stopped her vehicle and informed the Kadri Traffic Police. Meanwhile, without wasting time she took the injured cleaner in her two-wheeler by holding him in one hand and driving with the other.

The police personnel arrived by the time she reached the hospital and the cleaner got timely treatment.

City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal has praised the lady constable for her kind act.
