Mangaluru: Man hospitalized after shooting self with gun, mistaking it for a toy

Mangaluru, January 7, 2025: A man has been hospitalized with bullet injuries in his stomach after he shot himself accidentally with a revolver after mistaking it for a toy. The incident took place at Vamanjoor.

At a second hand store at Vamanjoor, a person named Bhasker had placed a gun on the table and had been to the washroom. Meanwhile, another man named Safwan who came to the shop laid his hands on the gun and mistaking it for a toy pointed it towards his stomach and pressed the trigger.

This left him injured and he was rushed to a private hospital. Police sources said this was a case of accidental firing.
