Mangaluru: Mayor lays foundation for Ambedkar circle project

Mangaluru, september 16, 2024: Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur has laid the foundation for the construction of Ambedkar Circle near Balmatta-Jyothi by the Mangaluru City Corporation on September 15, Sunday.

The Mayor said the project would be inaugurated prior to December 6 which  is the Mahaparinirvan day of Dr B R Ambedkar.

The Circle will also have a statue of Ambedkar and will be constructed at a cost of Rs 50 lakhs using CSR funds.

Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Deputy Mayor Suneetha, Chief Whip Premanand Shetty, Opposition leader in MCC Praveenchandra Alva and others were present.
