Mangaluru Press Club Guest of Honour Award presented to Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai

Mangaluru, Oct 30, 2023: The Guest of Honour Award of Mangaluru Press Club was conferred on Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai at a function held at Press Club on October 30, Monday. Rai is also the President of Bengaluru Kambala Samithi.

 

Speaking after receiving the Award, Rai spoke on the efforts to organise the first ever Kambala in Bengaluru in November.  He said the event to be held at Palace ground will see 125 pairs of buffaloes. He said after a huge procession in Mangaluru, the buffaloes along with their owners will head towards Bengaluru. He said the animals would be transported in lorries with utmost care along with food and water from their own places.

 Accommodation has also been arranged for the buffalo owners and other staff, he said adding over one lakh people are expected to witness the Kambala in Bengaluru. The venue will also serve Tulunadu food.

He said Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, actors Sunil Shetty, Shilpa Shetty, Aishwarya Rai, Anushka Shetty, Rajanikanth, cricketer K L Rahul and others will participate in the event.

Daijiworld Media Managing Director Walter Nandalike, DK Working Journalists’ Union President Srinivas Nayak Indaje, Press Club President P B Harish Rai and others were present.
