Mangaluru, January 11, 2025: On the occasion of the birth centenary of Param Pujya Srimad Sudhindra Tirtha Swamiji, a grand Pallaki Utsava (palanquin procession) of Swamiji’s portrait was organized on Friday by the SVT Volunteers Association. The event commenced at the Sri Venkataramana Temple on Car Street.
The procession, accompanied by temple volunteers, devotees of all ages, and bhajan groups, featured special percussion music and devotional singing. It passed through Mahamayi Temple Road, Gaddakeri, and Dongerkery Katte, eventually culminating at the Sukrutindra Kala Mantapa in Canara High School.
A Sri Sudhindra Smarana Guru Vandana program was held at the venue. Dr. M. Raghavendra Acharya delivered a tribute to the Guru, and Pandit M. Narasimha Acharya conducted religious rituals. The gathering included a recitation of hymns, bhajans, and devotional songs.
Subsequently, a felicitation ceremony was conducted by the SVT Volunteers Association to honor Pandit Raghavendra Acharya, an esteemed scholar of Nyayasudha. The program was compered by Narasimha Bhat.
Prominent attendees included Association President Suresh V. Kamath, Vice President Sahukar Kiran Pai, Secretary K. Manjunath Shenoy, Treasurer Sudheer Bhagat, and other key members such as Adige Damodar Shri Shenoy, Harish Kamath, temple trustee Adige Balakrishna Shenoy, Satish Prabhu, Ganesh Kamath, and Jagannath Kamath.
