Mangaluru, August 5, 2024: Mangaluru has become the second-highest city in Karnataka for high beam violations, recording 1,365 cases since enforcement began in July. This initiative is part of a statewide crackdown on high beam usage, leading to a total of 28,620 violations.

The crackdown aims to prevent accidents caused by the sudden blindness from high-intensity lights during nighttime driving. Alok Kumar, ADGP of Karnataka, emphasized that high beam lights are a significant factor in head-on collisions at night.
