Udupi, Sep 22, 2020: Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh on September 22, Tuesday visited the site of the multi-storied building "Premier Enclave"at Kundelu Kadugudda in Manipal which is facing fear of collapse after a portion of the retaining wall of the building came crashing down resulting in landslide on Monday due to heavy rains in the region.
The Deputy Commissioner interacted with officials concerned and those associated with the complex. He said all issues will be scrutinized including the documents relating to the building following which action would be initiated.
All the occupants of the building have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.
The building was constructed in 2004-2005 close by the Syndicate Circle on the Udupi-Manipal route. On September 20, Sunday evening, a small portion of the retaining wall had collapsed. But on Monday evening there was a big landslide in the area.
The police who immediately swung into action banned vehicular traffic on the Udupi-Manipal Road as a precautionary measure.
