Manipal cops arrest 2 women for theft of jewels in train

Udupi, Mar 16, 2023: Manipal Police have arrested two women on charges of theft on the Mangaluru-Mumbai Express train. The arrests were made within eight hours of the theft. The stolen gold was also recovered from the women.

 

Those arrested are Lalita Bhovi (41) and Sushilamma Bhovi (64) from Bhadravathi. The two had stolen a hand bag   containing jewels belonging to a family. The value of the gold is estimated at Rs 4 lakh. The family had boarded the train on March 14.

Police said the accused were involved in many theft cases.
