Missing Congress leader of Kota found dead in Chikmagalur

Udupi, Jan 12,2013 : Kota Block Congress Secretary Vasudeva  Adiga  who was reported missing since January 7 evening and was suspected to have been kidnapped, has been found dead at Kadur in Chikmagalur on January 12, Saturday.

Adiga had gone missing while he was on way home to Vandar in his bike. According to  reports, he was kidnapped by some persons who had come by a Black Scorpio car. Adiga’s bike was found abandoned  near Goliangady  the next day. His mobile phone was also traced subsequently.

The initial suspicion was that a land dispute which Adiga had with a few persons had led to the kidnapping. 

Sources have revealed that Adiga was also an RTI activist and was in the lead in exposing irregularities in a temple and in some government offices which might have possibly invited the ire of some forces.

He had even contested elections to Billady Gram Panchayat but had faced defeat.
