Missing boy case; Farangipete residents stage protest, warn of bundh

Bantwal, February 28, 2025: Residents of Farangipete who staged a flash protest on Thursday demanding the police department to act swiftly to trace a 17 year old boy who is missing since February 25, have warned of a bundh in Farangipete on March 1 if the boy was not traced until then.

The missing boy is Diganth, son of Padmanabha of Kidebettu. He is a second PUC student of a college in Mangaluru. Diganth had left home on February 25 saying he was visiting the Anjaneya temple. However when he did not return, a search was launched. His footwear and mobile phone were found near the railway track close by his residence. However there was no trace of him.

Later, a missing complaint was lodged. Locals are alleging that that police have not taken the incident seriously.
