Missing elderly man found dead on railway tracks

Bantwal, November 15, 2024: A 70 year old man who was reported missing from his house at Sajipamunnur was found dead on the railway tracks at Ullal.

The deceased is Uggappa Poojary. He had come home after drawing his monthly pension from a bank at Panemangalore on November 5. Later he reportedly called his daughter-in-law’s mobile phone and then disconnected the call without saying anything. He later went missing leaving behind his mobile phone.

His son had lodged a complaint. The same day an unidentified body was found on the railway track at Ullal and was shifted to the Wenlock mortuary. The family members of Uggappa later identified it as that of  Uggappa.
