Mangaluru, Sep 27, 2016: Chikkaballapura MP Veerappa Moily advices college authorities to renovate Ravindra Kala Bhavan prior to 150th anniversary celebrations which will be held in 2018.
Speaking during Founder’s day celebration at University College today September 27 Tuesday, Moily took up the proposal of restoration works budgeting of Rs 1.83 crore and need to plan of transforming present library in to digital library.
Vice-chancellor of Mangalore University Prof K Byrappa said that committee will be formed for the 150th anniversary along with supervisory board which includes Veerappa Moily, DK Chowta and others.
The entire year will be festive season with cultural events, talks by eminent scholars from in and outside the state and abroad, he added.
On the auspicious day of Vijay Dasami on October 11th, restoring work of Ravindra Kala Bhavan will be launched under heritage grants sanctioned by university grants commission (UGC), said Byrappa.
