Moodbidri : 12 yr boy’s attempt to rescue cat proves fatal

Moodbidri, Dec 31, 2015 : Twelve year old Adarsh Shetty  met a watery grave  in his attempt to rescue a cat that had fallen into a well  near the Seetharam Temple at Ashwathapura in Moodbidri on December 30, Wednesday night. The deceased boy who was the son of Anil Shetty of the same area, was a Class VII student of Vani Vilas Aided Higher Primary School.

It has been gathered that the boy suddenly lost his balance and fell into the well while trying to save the cat. Meanwhile, his family  which grew anxious when they  could not find him, began a frantic search and finally on noticing his slippers near the well,  peeped inside only to see his floating body.

Moodbidri police have  registered a case. The annual day of the school where  Adarsh was studying has been cancelled following his tragic death.

Adarsh’s father Anil  and mother Vimala are at a complete loss following the demise of Anil. They had even lost their elder son in a road accident three years ago. If Anil works as a security guard, Vimala is an Anganavadi worker.
