Moodbidri: Heavy rain with strong winds; tree falls on car, causes damage

Moodbidri, April 23, 2025: Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds lashed the Maroor area here, leading to the collapse of trees and electric wires. Reports on Tuesday indicated damage to houses and vehicles.

 

 

 

 

In Beeravu, part of the Maroor region, a tree fell on the national highway, damaging a car. The occupants of the car sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. As a result, traffic on the Moodbidri–Bantwal national highway was halted for nearly two hours. A tree also fell on the house of a person named Razak, causing property damage.

In the Dalit colony of the Maroor area, a large tree fell on power lines, disrupting the electricity supply. Fortunately, no loss of life was reported.
