Mulki: Top portion of Bappanadu temple chariot collapses during Rathotsava; none hurt

Mulki, April 19, 2025: In a shocking incident, the top portion of the chariot of the historic Bappanadu Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple collapsed during the Brahmarathotsava during the wee hours of Saturday. The temple priest and some others who were in the chariot luckily escaped unhurt.

 

The incident took place between 1:40-2:00 am. Though no one was injured, the incident sparked alarm among the thousands of devotees who gathered for the Rathotsava.

Later the rituals were conducted in the Chandra Mandala chariot of the temple.
