Mumtaz Ali missing case: Cops file case against six persons

Mangaluru, October 7, 2024: Businessman Mumtaz Ali missing case has taken a new twist. Ali reportedly went missing after parking his car near the Kulur bridge on October 6, Sunday morning.

Ali’s brother Hyder Ali in his complaint lodged with the Kavoor police had alleged that Mumtaz was being repeatedly threatened and blackmailed and was fleeced of lakhs of rupees by some people. Based on the complaint police have registered cases against six persons including a woman.

Those accused are Rehamath, Abdul Sattar, Shafi, Mustafa, Shuaib, Sattar and car driver Siraj. It is learnt they blackmailed Mumtaz with the help of the accused woman named Rehamath.

The complaint also alleged that the accused instigated Mumtaz which drove him to suicide by threatening of spreading news that he had an illicit affair and that they would kill him if their demand for cash was not heeded to.

Mumtaz Ali is the brother of former MLA Moidin Bava.
