Murders over communal enmity: Govt announces Rs 25 lakh compensation for families of 4 victims

Mangaluru, June 17, 2023: The State government has issued an order announcing a compensation of Rs 25 lakhs each to the families of Masood of Bellare, Muhammad Fazil of Mangalapete, Suratkal, Abdul Jaleel of Katipalla and Deepak Rao of Katipalla who were murdered over communal enmity.

 

It may be recalled here that Masood of Bellare was murdered on July 19 last year, while Muhammad Fazil was killed on July 28. Abdul Jaleel was murdered on December 28 last year. Deepak Rao of Suratkal was killed on January 3, 2018.

The compensation was announced after the State Police Chief   made a recommendation in this regard to the Internal Administration Department. The beneficiary families have been asked to avail the compensation cheque by June 19.
