Nitte Institute of Communication bags National Award

Mangaluru, November 29, 2024: Nitte Institute of Communication (NICO) was conferred with the Best Media and Communication award at the 8th National Media Conclave 2024 held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on Monday.

Jointly organized by the Institute of Media Studies, Utkal University, the National Media Conclave is a prestigious media meet where media institutes and media houses from across the nation gather to discuss issues and concerns related to media.

The award to NICO was presented by Prof. Baldev Raj Gupta, Member, Press Council of India; Prof. B.P. Sanjay, Senior Professor of Communication; Dr. Archana R Singh; Prof. K.G. Suresh, Former Vice Chancellor, Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication; and Prof.Upendra Padhi, President, National Media Conclave.

Prof. Dr. P.V. Satya Prasad, Head of the Nitte Institute of Communication, received the award. Along with the award, NICO also participated in research paper presentations at parallel sessions. Prof. Prasad presented a research paper titled "Changing Landscape of News Dissemination in the AI Era" during session 1. Dr. Nesara Kadanakuppe, Associate Professor at NICO, presented his research paper titled "Implementation of AI and Machine Learning in Print Media: A Case Study of The Printers Mysore Private Limited from Karnataka, India." Ms. Haleema Shiza, Second Year BA student at NICO, presented her first research paper, "Adumbrating the Influence of Automated Journalism and Artificial Intelligence on Journalistic Prowess: A Critical Study".
