Mangaluru, Sep 29, 2015: Well-known medical practitioner and Founder President of Bunts Medical Practitioners Association Dr K.R. Shetty was conferred Honorary Doctorate of the Nitte University at a ceremony held at his residence in Mumbai.
Speaking on the occasion, N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University recalled the yeoman contributions of Dr K.R. Shetty towards the development of Nitte institutions.
Dr Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor of the University, spoke about the services rendered by Dr. K.R. Shetty to the medical field.
Speaking after receiving the honour conferred on him, Dr. K.R. Shetty said though India needed one doctor per every 700 population at present it does not have even one doctor for a population of every 5000. He also hailed the services rendered by Nitte University to the medical education and health care sector.
Dr Ramananda Shetty, Chancellor of Nitte University spoke on the achievements of the University.
