Udupi, Sep 01, 2021: Outgoing Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadish who has been appointed as the Joint Secretary of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai was accorded a warm farewell at the Rajathadri Auditorium on August 31, Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the outgoing DC said he cannot forget the love and affection showered upon him by the people of Udupi and added that he could get the post of Joint Secretary to the CM due to the blessings of the people.
He said he had the regret of not being able to concentrate much on the developmental aspect as the main focus was on controlling Covid-19. He said he has the satisfaction that Udupi district has been recognised as a district which recorded least number of Covid deaths.
Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat too appreciated the efforts put in by DC Jagadish in checking the spread of Covid in the district.
The outgoing DC, his wife Sowmya and two daughters were also present. Udupi Town Development Authority Chairman Raghavendra Kini, CMC President Sumitra Nayak, Coastal Security Police SP Nikhil, Additional DC Sadashiva Prabhu and others were present.
The newly appointed DC Koorma Rao will take charge today.
