Overtaking bid by 2 cars claims life of woman

Mangaluru, December 10, 2024: A woman lost her life in an overtaking bid by two cars at Adamkudru on Monday evening. The two cars eventually landed in a roadside ditch.

The deceased woman is Baby (65), wife of Krishnappa of Sevanthigudde. Baby who runs a shop at Adam Kudru also worked on night duty at an apartment at Pumpwell.

On Monday, she was on way to report to duty at the apartment and was crossing the road when a car that was heading towards Mangaluru fatally knocked her down before landing in the ditch adjacent to the National Highway. Another car which was overtaking the car which knocked down the woman, also landed in the ditch.

The drivers of both the cars have sustained injuries. Senior police officials including DCP Ravishanker, Traffic ACP Najma Farooqi visited the spot.
