Parashurama statue row: Ullal Congress stages protest

Mangaluru, Oct 27, 2023: The Ullal unit of the Congress staged a protest near the Thokkottu overbridge on October 26, Thursday to protest against the alleged cheating by the previous BJP government by installing a fibre statue of Parashuram and claiming it to be a bronze statues.

 

Addressing the protestors, Congress leader M G Hegde said if the statue was fake even the land was illegal as it was a Gomala land. He also questioned how the erstwhile BJP government could build a statue on a land which had no permission from the Revenue Department and district administration.

Ullal Block Congress President Sadashiva Ullal alleged that the previous BJP government had fooled the people with a fibre statue.

Several Congress leaders were present.
