Parashurama theme park row: Udupi Nirmithi Kendra director suspended

Udupi, July 25, 2024: The Udupi Deputy Commissioner has issued an order suspending Arun Kumar, the Project Director of Nirmithi Kendra which undertook the works of the controversial Parashurama Theme Park in Karkala. The suspension comes in the wake of allegations of widespread irregularities in the implementation of the project.

Presently the Police Department as well as the Chief Justice H N Nagmohan Das Commission is investigating the case. The Nirmithi Kendra Director has been suspended to avoid any intervention in the investigation.

Assistant Project Director of Nirmithi Kendra, Udupi has been appointed as the acting Project Director with immediate effect.

It has been alleged that the project was inaugurated in a haste without handing it over to the department concerned and that there had been irregularities even in the making of the so called bronze statue of Parashurama. There were allegations that the statue was not made of bronze.
