Passenger dies of cardiac arrest in Mangaluru-Udupi bus

Mangaluru, August 6, 2024: A man died of cardiac arrest while travelling in a Mangaluru-Udupi bus on Monday. The incident took place near Mukka. Though the bus driver immediately diverted the bus to the private hospital at Mukka and admitted the passenger to the hospital, his life could not be saved.

The deceased is B Vijaykumar (62), a resident of Jeppu Gujjanakere in the city. He had boarded the express bus at Kottara Chowki. However he fell ill and collapsed inside the bus when it neared Kodikal cross. A nurse who was travelling in the bus on examining the passenger asked the bus conductor to immediately shift him to the hospital.

The driver immediately drove the bus towards Mukka Hospital and admitted him. However it is learnt the passenger had died by the time the bus reached the hospital.
