Patla Satish Shetty to lead new Pavanje Yakshagana Mela

Mangaluru, Oct 17, 2020:   Renowned Yakshagana Bhagavatha Patla Satish Shetty  will be leading a new Yakshagana Mela named Pavanje Mela  under the aegis of the Pavanje Sri Jnanashakti Subrahmanya Temple.

The new Pavanje Mela will be inaugurated  on Vijayadashami Day on October 27. The day will be marked by a Muhurat and Yakshagana performance, informed  Shashindra Kumar,  Administrator of Pavanje Temple. He said the first Thirugaata or first seasonal tour of Pavanje Mela will commence from 27. He also claimed that already over 100 bookings for the show have been done.

Kumar said Patla Satish Shetty will  be entirely responsible for the Mela and the selection of artistes.

Patla Satish Shetty who spoke on the occasion said many artistes have already joined the new Mela and many more expected to join  in the days to come. He also  stated that a Yakshagana  Prasanga "Pavanje Kshetra Mahatme," is also ready and added that  the new troupe will perform Yakshagana shows by duly adhering to Covid guidelines.
