Mangaluru, June 12, 2017: Petrol bunks in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts too will remain closed from the midnight of June 15 till the midnight of June 16 as per the call for a state wide petrol bunk bundh to oppose the daily revision of petrol and diesel prices.
The two districts have around 200 petrol bunks with each bunk selling 5000 litres to 6000 litres of petrol/diesel every day thereby undertaking a business of around Rs 10 crores.
This is the first time that petrol bunks in the district would be shut in the past six year period.
On June 14, a delegation of State Petroleum Dealers Federation is scheduled to meet Union Petroleum Minister in New Delhi highlighting their problem and opposing daily revision of prices. There is a possibility of withdrawing the strike in case the minister heeds to the demand.
