Police seize sandalwood worth Rs. 2 lakh

Mangalore, May 5: The forest department police officials nabbed E. K. Sulaiman (36) and confiscated a Maruti car and sandalwood from him.

The police acted on a tip off that sandalwood was being illegally transported in a Maruti car that was on its way from Mudigere to Belthangady. PSI Naveenacharya Jogi and his team stopped the car near Belthangady, arrested E. K. Sulaiman and confiscated 31kgs of sandalwood from him. The total cost of the confiscated sandalwood is estimated to be Rs. 2 lakh.

The Belthangady Police are currently investigating the case.
