Police station staff arrested under POCSO Act for misbehaving with minor girl

Mangaluru, Jul 28, 2021: A head constable grade employee of a police station in the city has been arrested and booked under POCSO Act on charges of  misbehaving  with a minor girl through mobile phone calls, informed City Police Commissioner  N Shashi Kumar. The Commissioner said the complaint was received through the Child Welfare Committee.

 

 

 The Commissioner said the accused  had taken the mobile phone number of the minor who had come to a police station along with her parents  to lodge some complaint. The personnel had later misbehaved with her by calling her mobile number and texting her.

 As there was sufficient evidence, the accused was arrested on Tuesday under POCSO Act, the Commissioner said at a press meet.

DCP Hariram Shanker was also present.
