Prasad Art Gallery to host ‘ParamPrateeka’, a unique art festival to mark its completion of 27 years

Mangaluru, Feb 24, 2022: Prasad Art Gallery, Mangalore’s first and most prolific art gallery, is completing 27 vibrant years this year. In order to mark this occasion, the gallery is organizing ‘ParamPrateeka’ a unique art fest for four days from 25th to 28th February, 2022 at the gallery founder Koti Prasad Alva’s Residence at ‘Ram Prasad’, Kodialguthu East Road, Mangalore, from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm. The event will showcase art in three categories: (1) Exhibition of Artifacts and Antiquities, (2) Competition of Installation Art titled ‘Paramprateeka’ and (3) Exhibition of works by 27 reputed senior Artists. This unprecedented showcasing of a wide variety of art promises to be an unforgettable event and an unbeatable treat for artists and art lovers alike.

The event will be inaugurated by Dr. M. Mohan Alva, Chairman, Alva’s Educational Trust, Moodabidri on Friday, 25th February 2022 at 5.00 pm in the presence of Shivananda Basavanthappa, Director, Bodhi College of Visual Art, Bengaluru. Capt. Ganesh Karnik, Former Member of Karnataka Legislative Council will preside over the function.

A special Interactive Session is arranged with internationally renowned visual artist L. N. Tallur on Sunday, 27th February 2022 at 4.30 pm. The session will be moderated by Nemiraj Shetty, Art Historian, Mindcraft Studios.

Valedictory Ceremony will be held on Monday, 28th February 2022 at 5.00 pm. It will be presided over by Art Connoisseur K. R. Ramakrishna. Dr. Annapurna S. Kamath, Managing Trustee, Satya Foundation, Bengaluru, Ramesh Rao, Founder President, Artists Forum, Udupi and Permude Mohan Kumar, Member, Karnataka Lalitkala Academy, Bengaluru are the Guests of Honour.

The exhibition section will feature the works of 27 senior artists. The works of the following artists are being displayed posthumously: B. G. Mohammad, Girija Yadav, K. L. Bhat, K. P. Shenoy, Panduranga Rao, Purushothama Karanth, Sanjeeva Shetty and Thilak Raj.

In addition, the works of the following senior artists will be on display: Anantha Padmanabha Rao, Dayananda Bejai, Devadas Shetty, Ganesha Somayaji, Madhusudhan Kumar, Kamal, Karunakara Shetty, Koti Prasad Alva, Manoranjini Rao, Mohan Kumar Permude, P. N. Acharya, P. S. Punchithaya, Ramesh Rao, Sanjeev Sherigar, Shabbir Ali, Sharath Holla, Nemiraj Shetty, Vishnu Shevgur, Yajna Acharya.
