Pratibha Kulai insult case: Accused gets anticipatory bail

Mangaluru, Nov 05, 2022: The court has granted anticipatory bail upto November 9 to Sudarshan Bhat, an accused in the case of offending Congress leader Pratibha Kulai who was part of the protest demanding closure of Suratkal toll gate.

Another accused in the case K R Shetty is already in judicial custody. Shetty who had uploaded a photo of Pratibha Kulai on social media had sought a suitable caption for the photo. Shyam Sudarshan Bhat  had commented indecently to the photo following which Pratibha Kulai had lodged a complaint with the Police Commissioner.

A case was registered at the women’s police station in Mangaluru. Meanwhile, the accused  had moved the Sessions Court seeking anticipatory bail. Now the court has given him protection against arrest till November 9.
